Maiya Devi Girls’ College (MDGC) is a leading independent single-gender public college for girls. It  was initially established in 1997 as a Higher Secondary School that was subsequently  upgraded into a full-fledged  college  in 2000  with affiliation from the Nepalese premier university, Tribhuwan University. It is located in prime area of Ward 10, of Bharatpur Metro in the central part of the nation. It runs its academic and administrative operations in its sprawling  buildings in a plot of land measuring 12 Katthas. Within a short span of time, the college has become a foundation for women empowerment through quality education. The credit of the establishment of the institution  goes to  prominent philanthropic personality Ms. Maiya Devi Shrestha. She has been  honorable founding  patron of the college whose contribution in the  physical infrastructure has been immensely praiseworthy. The contribution of a host of academics, social workers and educationists have also been significant in this respect.
