M.ED. Program

Education plays a vital role in national development by preparing competent professionals in teaching, educational planning, administration, management, and research. With the growing demand for quality education at all levels, there is an increasing need for well-qualified and skilled educators and educational professionals.

The Faculty of Education (FoE), Maiya Devi Girls’ College (MDGC) offers a four-semester Master of Education (M.Ed.) program designed to develop qualified, competent, and professionally capable teachers, teacher educators, educational administrators, planners, supervisors, researchers, and other education professionals.

Currently, the college offers the following three major subjects in the M.Ed. program:

  • English Education
  • Nepali Education
  • Health and Physical Education

Classes are conducted in the morning shift, and online classes are also offered to provide students with greater flexibility and accessibility in their learning.

Objectives of the M.Ed. Program

The program aims to:

  • Develop competent and visionary leaders in the field of education.
  • Produce qualified and skilled teacher educators.
  • Prepare efficient educational planners, administrators, supervisors, and other education professionals.
  • Promote innovative and research-based practices in education.
  • Enhance the professional knowledge and skills of teachers, particularly for higher and university-level education.
  • Develop critical thinking, research capacity, leadership, and professional competence among graduates.

The M.Ed. program at MDGC combines classroom-based and online learning to provide accessible, flexible, and quality higher education for women.
